Calling all queer + trans white Georgians. This call will take place on Monday, November 23 from 6:30-8PMEST. A few things are clear at this moment: Black women, Black leaders, immigrant + Latinx leaders, have led the organizing that flipped Georgia, over years, over decades, over centuries of work. And once again white people showed our god damn ass and a majority chose the death spiral of white supremacy and capitalist fervor and xenophobia aka Trumpism. Whites, we must put our hands to the freedom plow or get out of the damn way. We must root out, banish, and erase Trumpism from every inch of this land. Unfortunately it appears that will take years. Let’s be willing to devote our lives. Whether you come from football and trucks-type white people, or NPR and chardonnay white people. Or church-y white people, tractor white people, pills and online shopping white people, you get the picture? We need you to come and fight. We need you ready, willing, humble, steady. Let’s match the courage of our Black and brown comrades people! Though this call is focused on holding conversations between white SONG members in Georgia, any and all SONG members are welcome to join. |
